The annual design showcase Kips Bay Showhouse 2015 was again a  successful presentation from some of the country's top designers in the industry. They gave a tremendous amount of their time and resources for the benefit of the Kips Bay Boys &Girls Club this year! All projects were awarded and installed in 4 weeks! It is a shinning tribute of giving back with an unbelievable amount of dedication and hard work. Thank you to all!

The heart of the home is always the kitchen.  This room is the perfect destination for gathering , eating and creating great memories together.  This Kitchen is collaboration between  Christopher Peacock with kitchen design and custom cabinetry, Dacor luxury appliances and a beautiful sitting area by Bennett Leifer Interiors.

Anne Edwards cooking up a storm on this beautiful 48" Decor Range. Our group discussed current kitchen trends including the creation of task stations in your kitchen as shown here with this coffee / wine station. The lovely Lisa Kahn is taking notes and sharing images with her fans and clients.

Technology advances for the kitchen include electronic recipe storage, smart phone controls, an oven that automatically reduces temperatures to warm upon completion of  cooking time and much more.   Dacor: American made, family-owned and operated, with continued innovation puts this company at the top of the list for luxury appliances.

On a side note, this was not featured at Kips Bay, but is a new product introduction that I had to share with you. The new "Wine Station" by Dacor.  Don't you just love this.  An opened bottle of wine can last up to six weeks! This is the perfect addition to any home that entertains.

Other highlights from Kips Bay Showhouse:

My new CT designer friend Sharon McCormick and I are honored to meet the lovely Alessandra Branca. Her room was a refreshing and brilliant collection of color and texture.

Wall color courtesy of Sponsor Farrow & Ball in an area designed by the rising stars Tilton Fenwick. Note the fun use of Duralee trim along the chair rail and beautiful fabric upholstery on the walls

Tom Filicia with his brilliant collections.  Everyone stopped and touched the lacquered entry door with its large brass ring.

My new Canadian friends.  I have to say, the most beautiful staircase this year was the design of Philip Mitchell.  The sweeping curve of the stairs was accented by his amazing art collection that had people stopping tin their tracks to admire.  Historically Philip Mitchell has made a pilgrimage every year to NYC to see each Kips Bay Showhouse with his team.  It was fitting that this year he would be selected to participate.  New York will be seeing more of this designer, as he considers setting up an office in Manhattan.  Lucky for us.  Philip is shown here with fellow Canadian and blog tour comrade Vicky Sanderson.
