I truly enjoyed my time as a design blogger chosen for #BlogtourKBIS this year with a great group brought together by Design Resource, Modenus. I was flown to Las Vegas, NV for the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show along with 24 other amazing designers from around the globe for a 3-day adventure of style spotting. KBIS is the largest trade show in America and for anyone interested in design, this was like going to Disneyland for Kitchen and Bath designers. I loved seeing all the new introductions as well as some of the classics. At #KBIS2016, you can find everything from new finishes to copper appliances. This is an Instagram collection of great trends and products spotted at this year's Show.
Best of #kbis Color trends: Check out @suzannekasler s new collection of colors for @lacornueusa Ranges! Here is the pink but there are more! #lacornueusa #blogtourkbis @modenus #designhounds #nkba #kbis2016 #kitchendesign @lacornueofficial @la_cornue #Repost @lisamendedesign #lacornue #lacornueusa by @dvdinteriordesign
NUMBER 1: COLOR is YOUR FRIEND: This was a favorite at the show. Award-winning interior designer Suzanne Kasler is back in collaboration with La Cornue presenting a fresh collection that includes a burst of color for your kitchen. High-end luxury with custom color finishes for you. Also, available are equally beautiful Griege, beige, black and white. It was hard to choose a favorite.
Contender for "Innovative product of the Year". Great storage solutions by @glideware. New design for the corner lazy susan. Also love the pot and pan #organization fir undercounter. Great for new construction, renovations and my home. #blogtourkbis #kbis2016 #kitchendesign by @dvdinteriordesign
NUMBER 2: STORAGE SOLUTIONS: When GlideWare introduced their pull out track, I thought I had hit gold. Perfect for remodeling and new Kitchens alike this simple system is a welcomed addition to many kitchens. This year they've added the "not so lazy" Susan. If you're like me, your pots, pans, and lids need a better solution for being organized.
The #responsivehome. @responsive_home collaboration from many w final #interiordecor by @bobbyberk milennial celebrity #interiordesigner. Open #kitchendesign w #sustainability and #multigenerational living.And it was totally cool. Great concept home. #blogtourkbis #KBIS2016 #designhounds by @dvdinteriordesign
NUMBER 3: MARKETING SHIFT FOR HOUSING: Millennials are not buying homes like their predecessors, creating a shift in the current housing market and in the future. The #ResponsiveHome was a collaboration of many to develop the BUILDER TRI Pointe Responsive Home, which is actually two homes next to each other that highlight new building standards for the way we live, with our need to build sustainably and with efficiency for energy and water. Add to that formula a rentable suite for added income and future mother_in-law quarters for the multigenerational living shift occurring in the marketplace. The icing on the cake was creative director and celebrity designer Bobby Burks finishing touches on the interior decor and layout making these two very stylish homes. They are on the market if you are interested. To learn more about the Responsive Home, DesignMilk has written a comprehensive feature.
#kitchentrends : The undercounter microwave. This #microdrawer by @thermadorhome offers the largest capacity in the #luxury market and virtually disappears beneath a countertop. #kbis2016 image via #thermador #blogtourkbis #designhounds #kitchendesign #interiordesign by @dvdinteriordesign
NUMBER 4: APPLIANCES: The under counter microwave drawer is one of my favorite shifts in the appliance marketplace today. It's just a great idea. This one by Thermador is conveniently located below the counter allowing easy top loading access and less clutter on your countertop.
Paint trends #simplywhite #ColoroftheYear. Nuetral, soft and light is reflected. A nod to the desire for a clutter free aesthetic #kitchendesign #benjaminmoore #interiordecor #KBIS2016 #BlogTourKBIS by @dvdinteriordesign
NUMBER 5: COLOR OF THE YEAR: "Simply White" by Benjamin Moore. This color choice represents a need for a simpler aesthetic and the desire for a quiet and comfortable home environment. Look for accents in Black and Red.
Shiny objects have their moment too, in this juxtaposition of mirrored stainless steel and sandblasted rift oak. #woodmode #customcabinetry #stainlesssteel #hutch #whiteoak #sandblasted by @wood_mode
NUMBER 6: WOOD IS IN: Oak was a forgotten wood in cabinetry until recently. Now it's coming back strong as shown here in quarter sawn or rift cut and people are celebrating the grain with glazes or cerused finishes. These beautiful cabinets are Made in the USA at Wood Mode.
Yes, we love this #Kitchendesign by @frampton_co featuring the classic @blancoamerica1 faucet in Anthracite. Looking forward to #kbis2016 #blanco features on watersaving technology #blogtourkbis #designhounds ・・・ Fall colors in our Flatiron project #loftstyle by @dvdinteriordesign
NUMBER 7: BLACK: We saw many introductions from fixtures to appliance collections all in a black stainless steel finish. And the best news, it reduces the appearance of fingerprints!
There's a new sheriff in town! design @dxvluxury by @american_standard made this happen. This beautiful faucet is hollow! #dxv is a luxury line for #americanstandard when in #nyc, see for yourself #dxvtopsecret #insane #3DPrinting #Design #modenus #ctblogger #greenwichstyle #blogtourNYC by @dvdinteriordesign
NUMBER 8: 3D PRINTING: DXV a division of American Standard introduces a 3D printed metal faucet. It was amazing with a full line of fixtures on display.
Not your momma's laminate! Loving Trinidad Lapidus by #blogtourKBIS sponsor @wilsonart #designhounds by @modenus
NUMBER 9: INNOVATION: Wilsonart wants you to know they are more than just a laminate company. They are also leaders in engineered surfaces with a full portfolio of textures and colors and styles to select from. Just love this kitchen using their latest in laminates. WilsonArt wants to be your go-to resource for surfaces.
We're pretty sure you know a floor with this custom mosaic on its wish list. #kellywearstler by @annsacks
NUMBER 10: TILE: When a good idea is seen on one object, it isn’t long before you see it applied to others. In this case, the proliferation of black and white tiles. Tile manufacturers like Daltile, Ann Sacks, and Walker Zanger did not disappoint with great geometrics and patterns everywhere.
One more for good luck:
Bonus NUMBER 11: STEAM / CONVECTION OVENS: Yes, double ovens are the rage, but STEAM was the main feature in the double oven setups. A healthy and nutritional way to cook for better taste and helping foods maintain their nutritional values. This one from Thermador is also convection, complimenting the cooking process. Has your microwave died recently? Good news, you don't need a new kitchen to add a steam oven, they some 24-30 wide and fit into an under counter position as the perfect replacement.
