I am often asked my advice for new and growing design enthusiasts, stylist, interior designers and those just wanting to continue learning, what are some of my favorite books? Well, here they are. The core books of my resource library. These books are great resources for beginning a career in design or just brushing up on your craft, and they pack a lot more than just inspiration.

Having the right book in your library allows for the most comprehensive and basic working tool available to the design professional. A book for every area of expertise required in the practice of contemporary interior design.
You can search google, but having a hardcover interior design book full of amazing photography and tips from a master interior designer, lawyer, or photographer is so much better.

Interior Design Software for Drawings
I use all of these for different tasks.
Sketchup: For just starting out, and best on the budget, I’m a big fan of Sketchup…
Autocad is the workhorse of the industry, but Autocad LT is the most cost-effective for interior designers.
Chief Architect: If you are working on kitchens, and offering 3 d sketches and renderings, then Chief Architect is a great choice. The rendering quality is great.
Note on 2020: For me, I would only use this if selling manufactured cabinet lines. Superfast for pricing and 3d rendering. I use primarily custom cabinetry so these other programs are best for me.
