NUMBER 1: COLOR is YOUR FRIEND: This was a favorite at the show by Award-winning interior designer

From Paris with Love: The Suzanne Kasler collaboration with La Cornue is a fresh collection that includes a burst of color for your kitchen. High-end luxury with custom color finishes slected from her travels in France, are here to infuse your home. With the introduction of The Suzanne Kasler Couleur Collection, the range can now be seen as the palette driver for the whole home. It can lift moods, and create a happy mood all with color. Also, available are equally beautiful Griege, beige, black, and white and my fave, mixed metals!. It was hard to choose a favorite.

NUMBER 2: STORAGE SOLUTIONS:

When GlideWare introduced their pull out track, I thought I had hit gold. Perfect for remodeling and new Kitchens alike this simple system is a welcomed addition to many kitchens. This year they've added the "not so lazy" Susan. If you're like me, your pots, pans, and lids need a better solution for being organized.

NUMBER 3: SHIFT FOR HOUSING- mother in law suites

Millennials are not buying homes like their predecessors, creating a shift in the current housing market and in the future. The #ResponsiveHome was a collaboration of many to develop the BUILDER TRI Pointe Responsive Home, which is actually two homes next to each other that highlight new building standards for the way we live, with our need to build sustainably and with efficiency for energy and water. Add to that formula a rentable suite for added income and future mother-in-law quarters for the multigenerational living shift occurring in the marketplace. The icing on the cake was the creative director and celebrity designer

Bobby Burks finishing touches on the interior decor and layout make these two very stylish homes. They are on the market if you are interested. To learn more about the Responsive Home,

#kitchentrends : The undercounter microwave. This #microdrawer by @thermadorhome offers the largest capacity in the #luxury market and virtually disappears beneath a countertop. #kbis2016 image via #thermador #blogtourkbis #designhounds #kitchendesign #interiordesign by @

NUMBER 4: APPLIANCES:

The under counter microwave drawer is one of my favorite shifts in the appliance marketplace today. It's just a great idea. The first one above is by Thermador and is conveniently located below the counter allowing easy top loading access and less clutter on your countertop.

Jenn Aire WAS ANOTHER EARLY ADAPTER.

NUMBER 5: COLOR OF THE YEAR:

"Simply White" by Benjamin Moore. This color choice represents a need for a simpler aesthetic and the desire for a quiet and comfortable home environment. Look for accents in Black and Red.

Shiny objects have their moment too, in this juxtaposition of mirrored stainless steel and sandblasted rift oak. #woodmode #customcabinetry #stainlesssteel #hutch #whiteoak #sandblasted by @

NUMBER 6: WOOD IS IN for cabinetry:

Oak was a forgotten wood in cabinetry until recently. Now it's coming back strong as shown here in quarter-sawn or rift cut and people are celebrating the grain with glazes or cerused finishes. These beautiful cabinets are Made in the USA at Wood-Mode. Walnut for islands also delights.

Yes, we love this #Kitchendesign by @frampton_co featuring the classic @blancoamerica1 faucet in Anthracite. Looking forward to #kbis2016 #blanco features on watersaving technology #blogtourkbis #designhounds ・・・ Fall colors in our Flatiron project #loftstyle by @

NUMBER 7: BLACK IS THE NEW METAL COLOR:

We saw many introductions from fixtures to appliance collections all in a black stainless steel finish. And the best news, it reduces the appearance of fingerprints!

NUMBER 8: Great work Sinks

The Ruvati Single Bowl Kitchen Sink Workstation Undermount Stainless Steel Rectangle.

NUMBER 9: INNOVATION:

Contender for "Innovative Product of the Year". Great storage solutions by @glideware. New design for the corner lazy susan. Also, I do love the pot and pan #organization for the under counter. Great for new construction, renovations, and my home.

Abstra - available at Ann Sacks

NUMBER 10: TILE IS BECOMING 3D and TEXTURAL:

What’s better than a trending tile that is sustainable? The Abstra tile by Kohler is that very product. For sale at Ann Sacks, it does not disappoint with great textures and and patterns for the kitchen, and bath.

One more for good luck:

Bonus NUMBER 11: STEAM / CONVECTION OVENS:

Yes, double ovens are the rage, but STEAM was the main feature in the double oven setups. A healthy and nutritional way to cook for better taste and help foods maintain their nutritional values. This one from

Thermador is also convection, complimenting the cooking process. Has your microwave died recently?  The good news, is you don't need a new kitchen to add a steam oven, they are some 24-30 wide and fit into an under-counter position as the perfect replacement.
